Apple:

About Form It!.....:   Shows the Form It!
                       information screen
Help...............:   Brings up the Form
                       It! Help screen




File:

New Form........:   Create a new form
                    file
Open Form.......:   Open an existing form
                    file

Close...........:   Close frontmost
                    window

Save............:   Save any changes made
                    to the open form file
                    and data
Save As.........:   Save any open form
                    file to a new name or
                    disk

Page Setup......:   Standard set up for
                    printing
Print...........:   Print forms
                    (including the
                    background PICTs),
                    will print the form
                    design if in design
                    mode and will print
                    the form and its data
                    if in data entry mode
Print Data......:   Print forms data only
                    (useful for printing
                    to pre-printed forms)

Delete File.....:   Permanently delete a
                    file from disk

Quit............:   Quit to the Finder


Edit:

Undo.........:   Undo last operation

Cut..........:   Cut current selection to
                 clipboard
Copy.........:   Copy current selection
                 to clipboard
Paste........:   Paste text from
                 clipboard to current
                 field (or a PICT into
                 the PICTure layer of the
                 form while in design
                 mode)
Clear........:   Clear current
                 selection(s)

Select All...:   Select all text of
                 field being edited in
                 data entry mode, or
                 select all fields or
                 PICTs while in design
                 mode

Duplicate....:   Duplicate selected
                 field(s) (only in design
                 mode)

Duplicate Preferences.:   Set the
                          distance for a
                          duplicate (in
                          pixels or
                          inches) and how
                          many copies
                          will be made
                          when
                          duplicating
                          fields

Bring to Front........:   Bring the
                          current
                          selection to
                          the front (will
                          renumber fields
                          or bring a
                          selected PICT
                          to the front of
                          all other
                          PICTs)
Send to Back..........:   Place the
                          current
                          selection to
                          the rear (will
                          renumber fields
                          or place a
                          selected PICT
                          to the back of
                          all other
                          PICTs)

Align.................:   Align selected
                          fields or PICTs
                          by the Left,
                          Right, Top,
                          Bottom,
                          Left-Right
                          Centers or
                          Top-Bottom
                          Centers





Design:

Form Pages.........:   Specify the size
                       of the form (1-4
                       pages, maximum 2
                       pages wide, 2
                       pages high)
Custom Page Size...:   Set a custom page
                       size in inches for
                       an ImageWriter
                       printer

Preferences........:   Choose which
                       fields will be
                       used for importing
                       or exporting data
                       from/to a text
                       file.  Also choose
                       the field
                       delimiter used for
                       import/exporting
                       data (tab, comma,
                       return, etc). If
                       the "Import/Merge"
                       check box is
                       checked, the
                       imported text will
                       be placed in a
                       copy of the
                       current record (it
                       will make a
                       duplicate of the
                       current record for
                       each record
                       imported and fill
                       the selected
                       fields with the
                       data from the text
                       file).  This works
                       as a simple merge.

                       Other preferences
                       can be set such as
                       whether the fields
                       will be displayed
                       using the selected
                       fonts and styles
                       while in design
                       mode or a dotted
                       rectangle is
                       displayed inside
                       of each field.
                       Designate whether
                       the field outlines
                       will be printed
                       with the form if
                       the Show Field
                       Outlines option is
                       selected and
                       whether all of a
                       fields data is
                       selected when
                       tabbing from field
                       to field in data
                       entry mode.  A
                       password can be
                       assigned to the
                       form template to
                       protect the actual
                       form from changes.

Page Options.......:   Select whether to
                       hide the fields
                       while in the
                       PICTure layer and
                       whether to hide
                       the background
                       PICTs while in the
                       fields layer.

Date Format........:   Select one of
                       three date formats
                       for the Insert
                       Current Date
                       option while in
                       data entry mode


Layers.............:   Switch between the
                       Field or PICTure
                       layers while in
                       design mode



Layout:

Hide/Show Rulers.....:   Hide or show the
                         rulers

Custom Ruler and Grid:   Customize the
                         ruler and grid
                         settings

Hide/Show Grid Lines.:   Hide or show the
                         grid lines

Turn Grid Off/On.....:   Toggle grid
                         (snap to) on/off
                         for Field design
                         and the PICTure
                         layer

Preview (Reduce).....:   Show a reduced
                         view of current
                         form
Hide/Show Field Outlines:   Show or Hide
                            outlines of
                            each field
                            (only in data
                            entry mode)
                            to show
                            exactly where
                            each field is
                            located on
                            the form

Go to Form Data Management/Form Design:    Toggle between form design and form data entry modes





Fields:
(this menu will only appear while in the Fields layer in Design Mode)

Set Field Defaults........:   Set
                              defaults
                              (font size,
                              style,
                              etc.) for
                              adding new
                              fields

Renumber Field (tab order):   Renumber a
                              selected
                              field
                              (change its
                              order in
                              the field
                              list)

Edit Field Attributes.:  Edit selected
                         field attributes
                         and formula for
                         calculated
                         fields

Edit Field Help.......:  Edit the
                         selected fields
                         individual help
                         screen

Edit Field Choices....:  Edit the
                         selected fields
                         individual
                         choice selection

Calculated Field Report: Create a text
                         file with a
                         report of all
                         calculated
                         fields in the
                         form



PICTure:
(this menu will only appear while in the PICTure layer in Design Mode)

Import PICT file....:   Open & put a PICT
                        format file into
                        the forms PICTure
                        layer
Import MacPaint file:   Open & put a
                        MacPaint™ file
                        into the forms
                        PICTure layer

Export PICT file....:   Save the entire
                        PICTure layer as
                        a PICT file




Data:
(this menu will only appear while in Data Entry Mode)

Append Blank Record.:   Append a
                        blank record to
                        the end of the
                        form data

Append Copy Record..:   Append a copy of
                        the currently
                        displayed record
                        (useful if a new
                        form has similar
                        data)

Delete Current Record:  Mark the current
                        record as deleted
                        (the record will
                        not be removed
                        until the file is
                        saved)

Delete Multiple Records:   Mark multiple
                           records as
                           deleted using
                           a from/to
                           format or
                           using a
                           specified
                           criteria (the
                           records will
                           not be removed
                           until the file
                           is saved)

Undelete Multiple Records:   Unmark
                             multiple
                             records
                             which are
                             marked as
                             deleted
                             using a
                             from/to
                             format or
                             using a
                             specified
                             criteria

Export............:   Allows you to
                      export all,
                      selected, or
                      records containing
                      specified criteria
                      (and fields if its
                      set up in the
                      Preferences dialog)
                      to a text file
                      using whatever
                      field delimiter (a
                      character
                      separating each
                      fields data) is
                      selected in the
                      Preferences dialog

Import............:   Allows you to
                      import to all or
                      selected fields (as
                      set up in the
                      Preferences dialog)
                      from a text file
                      into the current
                      form data file




Search:

Find...........:   Find specified text in
                   any field starting at
                   the current record
                   (searching by one or
                   all fields)
Find Next......:   Find next occurrence
                   of text last searched
                   for

Previous Record:   Go to the previous
                   record
Next Record....:   Go to the next record

Go To Record #.:   Go to specified record
                   #




Misc.:

Insert Current Date:   Insert current
                       date into selected
                       field (entry mode)
Insert Current Time:   Insert current
                       time into selected
                       field (entry mode)

Get Field Help.....:   Display the help
                       screen for the
                       currently selected
                       field
Get Field Choices..:   Display the
                       choices screen of
                       the currently
                       selected field,
                       fill in the field
                       with the selected
                       choice if any

Recalculate Fields.:   Recalculate all
                       calculated elds




Font and Style:
(these menus will only be used while in the Fields layer in Design Mode)

The standard Font and Style menus are used for defining fields and their attributes.
